Mental Health Consultation in Child Care: Transforming Relationships among Directors, Staff, and Families

Covers topics such as initiating consultation; getting to know the program; adult relationships; beginning case consultation; gathering information and creating a picture of the child; interpreting behavior and developing hypotheses; and translating hypotheses into responsive action within the child-care setting. Includes case examples of effective programmatic functioning, interstaff and parent-staff relationships, and/or direct child interventions.

Assessing the Evidence of Effectiveness of Home Visiting Program Models Implemented in Tribal Communities

Describes the review process and findings for a similar systematic review of home visiting program models implemented in tribal communities or evaluated with AIAN families and children. To assess the evidence of effectiveness of culturally relevant models that have been implemented in tribal communities, the HomVEE team conducted a systematic review focusing specifically on studies relevant to tribal communities.

 

Parent Education to Strengthen Families and Reduce the Risk of Maltreatment

Provides an overview of research regarding key characteristics and training strategies of successful parent education programs for strengthening families and preventing child maltreatment. Information about selected evidence-based and evidence-informed parent education programs, including a list of registries that evaluate programs, is provided.
