This workbook was developed to provide a hands-on, step-by-step process to plan, execute, monitor, and optimize effective marketing strategies to communicate program successes in schools and communities. This workbook is a tool to help think through all the aspects that contribute to developing an efficient and effective approach to communications activities. Each step includes interactive worksheets to work through the 8-step process.
The first five steps includes information on how to analyze current programming, set communications goals and objectives, identify a target audience, and develop messages and dissemination methods. The final three steps focuses on developing an action plan to put a strategy in place including how to test materials and implement, evaluate, and modify the plan.
The end result will be a strategic communications plan to guide strategy and future changes. This workbook can be used as a standalone tool or as a resource designed to complement the National Resource Center’s (NRC) three-part communications online learning modules here.
