Wisconsin - State and Community Partnerships for School-Based Mental Health

In September of 2013, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) was one of seven states awarded the Safe Schools/Healthy Students (SS/HS) grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).  Wisconsin’s SS/HS grant initiative is a collaborative effort between the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, Department of Health Services, and the Racine, Beloit, and Menominee Indian school districts.

Implementation of Young Child Wellness Strategies in a Unique Cohort of Local Communities

Describes innovative strategies that the six Project LAUNCH grantees funded from 2010-2015 used to improve outcomes for children, families and communities. This e-Book shares their lessons learned as they sought to bring policy and practice improvements to scale, enhance infrastructure, and implement direct services. The resource is rich with creative approaches, innovative strategies, and illustrative data from communities that can inform future early childhood efforts both within and outside of the LAUNCH community.

Town Hall Meetings

Invites communities to host a town hall meeting on addressing underage and high-risk drinking as part of the 2016 national Town Hall Meeting initiative. The website offers tips and resources, videos, and an interactive map showing different communities that are hosting events across the country.
