Nationwide, communities, states, territories, and tribes are pioneering new ways to promote young child wellness through Project LAUNCH, a federal initiative funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Project LAUNCH sites increase and improve evidence-based programs for children (0–8) and families and strengthen collaboration among child-serving organizations so that all children enter school ready to succeed.

Massachusetts Project LAUNCH offers a comprehensive collection of tools and guidance for integrating early childhood mental health staff, including a family partner, into the pediatric primary care setting. The toolkit supports the building of a core team;  promotion, prevention, and intervention focused services; the development of systems across the medical home; and evaluation and sustainability efforts.

Oklahoma Project LAUNCH collaborates with the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy (OICA) to make great strides to promote awareness and the impact of infant mental health in their communities and across the state.

Wisconsin Project LAUNCH summarizes their work to promote the integration of behavioral health into primary care focused on five initiatives, including provider training, behavioral health integration pilot project/brief module development, joint release of information form, primary care provider consultation line and governor’s early care and education advisory council.

North Carolina Project LAUNCH provides guidance to pediatric primary care settings about the development of a family-centered model of care to better meet the needs of patients and their families.

Vermont Project LAUNCH provides quarterly policy briefs from Building Bright Futures. Topics include bullying prevention, adverse effects of child neglect, and health and educational disparities in young children.

Boone County Project LAUNCH provides  sample referral/follow-up options based on scores from ASQ-3™/ASQ:SE-2™ screenings.

NYC Project LAUNCH describes work to support parents and families using the Circle of Security Parenting Program.

NYC Project LAUNCH describes educational and communication materials created and used to promote and support the well-being of young children.

NYC Project LAUNCH highlights and summarizes work to support early childhood mental health consultation in early care and education, and provides recommendations for future efforts in these areas.
