Mark your calendars and register for the next Project LAUNCH Communication Online Learning Event (OLE), “Educating Policymakers: Frame Your Message to Align with Their Priorities,” scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm ET (11:00 am-12:00 pm PT; 12:00-1:00 pm MT; 1:00-2:00 pm CT).

Policymaker education allows you to demonstrate the positive impact of the Project LAUNCH initiative in your community, giving policymakers a blueprint for sustaining and replicating the success of your work elsewhere.

By engaging policymakers, you can help them learn more about important Project LAUNCH issues—improving coordination across child-serving systems, building infrastructure, and increasing access to high-quality prevention and wellness promotion services for children ages birth to 8 and their families—and how these issues connect with their constituents. By sharing the positive outcomes of your Project LAUNCH initiative, you can also help to establish yourself as a valuable resource for policymakers.

As a participant in this OLE, you will:

  • Understand your role as an educator
  • Consider your policy environment
  • Learn five steps for successful policymaker education
  • Explore message framing for policymakers
  • Look at helpful resources
